StillSecure® has assembled an impressive and experienced team of executives. With backgrounds from private to public companies, from non-technology based professional service firms to high-tech software companies, these executives are prominent in their respective fields. In addition to a number of security experts on staff, the executive team is well versed in Internet infrastructure and security.
Rajat Bhargava
Chairman and CEO
Rajat Bhargava is responsible for defining the company's vision and strategy as well as executing on that vision. He is also Chairman and co-founder of Quova, a provider of Internet infrastructure intelligence services. Prior to Quova, Mr. Bhargava was co-founder of Interliant, a provider of managed application hosting, messaging, Web hosting, enhanced Internet and professional consulting services. Mr. Bhargava was also co-founder and a board member of Service Metrics, a provider of applications and services that accurately monitor and measure mission-critical Internet operations to empower customers to make informed Web-site decisions. Service Metrics was acquired by Exodus Communications in November 1999. Mr. Bhargava was also co-founder, Chairman, President and CEO of NetGenesis (NASDAQ: SPSS), which provides enterprises the clearest possible picture of online customers, revealing behavior patterns critical to e-business success.
Mr. Bhargava is a graduate of MIT, with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
Alan Shimel
Chief Strategy Officer
As Chief Strategy Officer, Alan Shimel is responsible for guiding StillSecure® on its mission to bring innovative and effective networking and security solutions to the marketplace.
Mr. Shimel has become an often-cited personality in the security community. Through his blog and weekly podcast, his commentary on the state of security and the marketplace is closely followed within the industry. Additionally, Mr. Shimel is active in the open source community, serving as a director of the Open Source Snort Rules Consortium (OSSRC) and founding the OS2A. He is a sought-after speaker at industry conferences and events.
Prior to co-founding StillSecure, Mr. Shimel has had a wide range of business experiences. He was most recently SVP of Sales and Business Development of Cachier® a manufacturer of network acceleration appliances. Prior to that, he was VP of Business Development at Interliant® where in a little more than 3 years he was instrumental in forging relationships and strategic partnerships with such industry players as, Dell Computer®; Verisign®; Microsoft®; IBM®; Cisco®; and EMC®. He was also a key team member when Interliant acquired 27 companies and completed a successful IPO. A pioneer in the Internet industry, Shimel was one of the founders of Tri Star Web®, a NYC-based, early entry in Web hosting that was acquired by Sage Networks®, which later became Interliant.
Mr. Shimel is a graduate of St. Johns University with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics, and holds a JD degree from NY Law School.
Stephen Leahy
VP Worldwide Sales
Stephen Leahy is responsible for all revenue generating activities within StillSecure including commercial and Federal sales, OEM partnerships, channel partners, and managed services.
Most recently Mr. Leahy held the position of VP Worldwide Sales at AccuRev a key player in the software configuration and process management market. Prior to AccuRev Mr. Leahy was VP Worldwide Sales for Empirix, the leader in the testing and validation of complex networks and applications. In that role Mr. Leahy dramatically expanded the company's presence in North America and in the EMEA markets. Prior to Empirix, Mr. Leahy held executive positions with several successful start-up companies such as Pure Atria, Calico Commerce, and Frictionless Commerce.
Mr. Leahy earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College.
Steve Harris
VP Managed Services
With 30 years of business management and leadership experience, Steve Harris has guided small and large enterprises through both traditional and new-economy business models including several start-ups and new technology companies.
Mr. Harris founded ProtectPoint Security, Inc., a managed security service provider (MSSP) that StillSecure acquired in January of 2009, and Mr. Harris subsequently joined the Executive Team at StillSecure. Prior to ProtectPoint, Mr. Harris was the Chief Operating Officer for WebUnited, an Internet Service Provider, where he engineered the company's growth from a start-up to the premier provider in the southeast. In addition, Mr. Harris was Vice-President of Operations for a large Midwestern company with 80 locations and 3,000 employees. Mr. Harris has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Wright State University.
Brad Doctor, CISSP
VP Technology
Brad Doctor has more than 15 years of networking, software, and security industry experience. He is responsible for StillSecure's technology strategy and product/services roadmap. Mr. Doctor has fulfilled a variety of roles at StillSecure, including creating and directing the Security Alert Team (SAT), developing and managing StillSecure's CommonOs Linux-based operating system, and developing the patent-pending StillSecure MG Accelerator. Prior to co-founding StillSecure, Mr. Doctor worked with Quova, Inc. where he led the development of Quova's patented and market-leading IP Geo-location technology. Prior to Quova, Mr. Doctor consulted for a wide variety of organizations such as Apple Computer, Virtual Chips, Phoenix Technologies, California Maritime Academy, The Monster Board, and Network General.
Sanjiv Bhargava
Sr. VP Engineering
Mr. Bhargava has over 20 years of software industry experience. Most recently he worked with security startup companies as a consultant and mentor. Before that, he held the position of Vice President of Technology for Symantec Corporation, where he oversaw the research and development efforts of Symantec Research Labs, including SARC (Symantec's Anti Virus Research Center). He has also served as Senior Director of Development for Symantec's Remote Productivity Solutions Business Unit, where he was responsible for the development of award winning products, such as pcAnywhere, ACT!, and WinFax. Early in his career, Mr. Bhargava held various development management positions within Symantec and Contact Software International, which was acquired by Symantec in 1993. Mr. Bhargava has a master's degree in Computer Science from Western Michigan University and an MBA from the University of Rajasthan in India. He's also an alumnus of the Wharton Business School's Executive Management Program and has taught at Western Michigan University's business school.
Dave Greenstein
Chief Architect
David Greenstein is responsible for the technical vision of the StillSecure product suite. His responsibilities include developing the technical roadmap, determining the best available technologies and methodologies for suite integration, encouraging innovation in StillSecure's core competencies, and understanding complex customer environments in which products are deployed. Mr. Greenstein has more than 10 years of experience in the web analytics and network security industries. Most recently Mr. Greenstein was the senior engineer and architect at NetGenesis where he was responsible for the data warehousing and reporting/analysis components of their high-scale web site analysis tools.
Mr. Greenstein is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering.
James D. Brown
VP Engineering
James D. Brown is responsible for the design and implementation of StillSecure's product suite and the daily operation of StillSecure's Security Alert Team. Mr. Brown has over 15 years' experience in the IT, telecommunications, and human resources industries. Mr. Brown was most recently co-founder and VP of Information Systems at CareerWizard.net, a job search automation firm. He was responsible for product planning and engineering, information systems infrastructure, and customer support. Prior to that, he held various technical and leadership roles at Qwest Dex (now Dex Media).
Mr. Brown attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, with a concentration in Computer Science.
Larry Middle
Chief Financial Officer and VP Program Management
Larry Middle has more than 15 years of diversified business advisory, management, operational, financial, and accounting experience. Prior to joining StillSecure, Mr. Middle spent 7 years serving as Chief Financial Officer and VP of Finance at three privately held high-tech companies, where he oversaw and directed all financial operations, contract negotiations, and mergers and acquisition strategies and opportunities. Prior to this, Mr. Middle was employed at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he provided audit and advisory services for a variety of privately and publicly held companies.
Mr. Middle is a graduate of Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and is a CPA in the state of Colorado.
