Safe Access tests

Safe Access ships with more than 1800 tests and checks. The table below lists the high level tests, each of which may contain multiple sub-checks that ensure the endpoint is truly compliant. For example, many anti-virus tests not only verify that the software is installed, they also:

  • Check for the appropriate entries in the registry and file system
  • Verify that the software is actually running
  • Verify that the real-time service is running
  • Verify that the most recent signature updates are installed
  • Check that a virus scan has been recently run

Each of these conditions result in unique failure messages to assist administrators and end-users with remediation and network policy compliance.

Multiple tests are combined into access policies, which are applied to endpoints as they connect to the network. New tests are automatically incorporated into the test set when new threats are identified. Tests are developed, quality controlled, and made available by the StillSecure Security Alert Team. The StillSecure Security Alert Team constantly monitors multiple channels to ensure that all tests are up-to-date with the latest patches and software. This includes ongoing signature data for all support anti-virus and anti-spyware products as well as software patches from Microsoft, Apple and other vendors. In addition to the stock updated tests available below, many tests are also customizable to the specific testing environment and specific testing needs.
