System administration without the overhead

Originally released in 2001, Strata Guard® is legendary for its stability and rock-solid performance. It installs quickly—typically less than a half hour—in intrusion detection or intrusion prevention mode (see graphics at right), and is highly automated, freeing up your IT folks for the 527 other things they need to do.

Tuned to the attacks that matter
Strata Guard lets you focus on only the attacks that pose a legitimate threat. Easy-to-use features such as Quicktune™ and Intelligent Attack Profiling™ let you quickly tune Strata Guard to your traffic profile. You won't get desensitized or swamped with a flood of false positives. Strata Guard also lets you 'tune as you go;' it remembers how you've responded to individual attacks and gives you the option of responding to future attacks in the same way.

Defending against the zero-day attack
Strata Guard attack rules are created, tested, and released by the StillSecure Security Alert Team (SAT), which operates on a 24x7 basis to monitor and respond to network threats. In addition to writing and releasing GPL rules in-house, SAT compiles rules from Emerging Threats and other sources.

Strata Guard rules conform to the industry-standard Snort®* format. You can configure Strata Guard to check for updated SAT rules as frequently as every hour, or download rule updates on demand, ensuring up-to-the-minute protection against newly released threats. And you can easily create custom rules to address organization-specific threats and policies.

Hardware, software, or—for modest throughput—VMware®
Strata Guard is available as software that you can install on your own off-the-shelf hardware, or as preconfigured hardware appliance. If your pipe is less than 5 Mbps, you can also run Strata Guard in a VMware environment. See Strata Guard® Lite for details.
