About Strata Guard® Lite

Strata Guard Lite is the freeware version of our award-winning, feature-rich intrusion detection/prevention system (IDS/IPS). Strata Guard Lite gives you all features and functions of the full commercial product with the following exceptions:

  • Throughput is limited to 10 Mbps
  • The Accessible Device Protection (ADP) and Vulnerable Device Protection (VDP) features are disabled
  • Multi-node Management capabilities are disabled

Strata Guard Lite leverages the SNORT® IDS engine and delivers additional high-value functionality, including

  • An award-winning easy-to-use interface
  • Multi-segment monitoring capabilities
  • A GUI-driven installation and configuration process
  • Automated attack rule updates (immediately available as rules are released)
  • Configurable per-attack response, based on business logic
  • Ability to prioritize and view attacks based on severity
  • Multiple intrusion prevention methods, including the ability to drop individual attack packets

Who is Strata Guard Lite for?

Strata Guard users should have basic TCP/IP networking skills. They should have a solid understanding of network architecture and have an inclination for network security issues and processes. Typical users include:

For support, your best bet is to use our Freeware Support and Feedback form. Our engineering team monitors submissions, but we cannot guarantee a response time.

Keep in mind that Strata Guard Lite is freeware, and as such there is no formal product support.

Full product support is available to customers who've purchased a commercial Strata Guard license and to those engaged in formal 15-day product trials.
