VAM technical summary »

Central server update procedure (applies to all users):

  1. SSH to the VAM device using an SSH client such as PuTTY (http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/putty.exe) or login to console.
  2. Login as user 'root' using the password you set during installation.
  3. Enter the upgrade command:
      NetPatch VAM5.5_NetPatch
  4. On the upgrade description screen, enter yes. The upgrade installs, and the server will reboot automatically when upgrade installation is complete.

CAUTION!

Updating your network environment can impact network processes and performance. We recommend you:
  • Follow change control best-practices
  • Maintain a roll-back plan
  • Schedule updates to minimize impact to your environment
  • Test/verify changes
